Recent article in the Moorpark Acorn refuting the science behind final “Zone 0” defensible-space regulations by two LA County individuals. Insurance concerns are not mentioned until the last sentence. “If we do the home-hardening, provide the water resources to our firefighters, do the appropriate vegetation maintenance—which is important—we can, at a fraction of the cost of Zone 0 regulations, actually provide better community fire hardening, which we know then will be a magnet to the insurance industry.”
