Submit Firewise Activity

Every household that logs activity helps the whole community stay recognized.

NFPA Firewise USA® requires each community to log a minimum of one hour of investment per dwelling per year. Your activity counts — even small things like raking leaves, cleaning gutters, or attending a community meeting.

What counts

  • Structural work — roof and gutter maintenance, vent screening, siding repair, non-combustible zone (0–5 ft)
  • Yard work — trimming trees, clearing brush, removing dead vegetation from the 5–100 ft zones
  • Home wildfire assessments — receiving one or conducting one as a trained assessor
  • Community events — attending or organizing town halls, workshops, chipper days
  • Communications — writing for the newsletter, translating materials, producing educational content
  • Fundraising and grant writing
  • IT / admin — website maintenance, data entry, technical support
  • Board activities — coalition meetings, planning sessions
  • Common-area work — neighborhood-scope brush clearing, community projects
  • Watching Firewise videos or reading approved documents (time counts as investment)
